Oligofructose

Oligofructose is a carbohydrate mixture obtained from inulin, which consists mainly of short chains of fructose units. It is produced by enzymatic or chemical hydrolysis and has a mildly sweet taste with a low calorie value. In food supplements, oligofructose is valued as a prebiotic fiber component that supplements the fiber content and functional properties of a formulation.
