Arbutin is a derivative of bearberry and is known for its skin-lightening properties. It works by inhibiting melanin production in the skin, thereby reducing dark spots and discolorations. Kojic acid is obtained through the fermentation of rice and is valued in skincare for its brightening effects. It reduces pigmentation spots by blocking the enzyme tyrosinase, which is responsible for melanin production. Thus, kojic acid ensures visible brightening and a smoother skin texture.
Lactic acid is used in our Bright Berry Bleach to gently exfoliate the skin and enhance the absorption of arbutin and kojic acid. It removes dead skin cells, promotes cell regeneration, and ensures soft, supple skin.

Effect & Mechanism of Action
Step 1: Lactic acid and alpha hydroxy acids work by gently removing dead skin cells and promoting cell renewal. This makes the skin smoother and more receptive to additional active ingredients.
Step 2: Arbutin and kojic acid inhibit melanin production by blocking the enzyme tyrosinase. This leads to a visible reduction of pigmentation spots and a more even skin tone.
Step 3: The antioxidant effect of arbutin and kojic acid protects the skin from free radicals. This supports skin health and ensures a long-lasting brightened complexion.
